From Sacramento to Pleasanton to San Francisco to Red Bluff, we had several nice stops in California.
Our first stop was at the Expo Center in Sacramento, known as CalExpo. It was 105 degrees the day before we got there and in the 90s’ the next few days. The RV park was quite dusty and dirty and right across from the Sacramento Fairgrounds that looked like it had not been used in years. While walking we met with some medical workers sitting outside one of the buildings and they told us that they were offering the covid vaccine inside but no one was coming.
From the Sacramento Fairgrounds we drove to the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton where our neighbors were literally a bunch of pigs.
The Agricultural Education Center
This Agricultural Education Center is named for ten-year-old Marissa Hunt, an Abbie 4-H member whose life was tragically cut short in 2004. Marissa loved to raise and show her farm animals at the Fair.
I don’t know where this lift “The Sky Ride” at the Alameda Fairgrounds goes to but a couple of birds seemed to be enjoying sitting on the chairs.
Unfortunately because there were no events going on at the fairgrounds, this beer server was not functioning.
Not far away from the RV Park is the Ken Mercer Sports Park. It has a walking path that is 2.15 miles long and we had a picnic here with the kids and Jacob rode his scooter.
Then on to chilly San Francisco where you still have to wear a mask whether you are playing soccer, riding your bike or just tossing the chuckit. Just plain crazy. In all our travels through around 13 states, whether we were shopping at Walmart or Costco this was the only place that still had the mask mandate.
Soccer with a mask on Who can understand a word the instructor says with that mask on?
Goodbye to San Francisco. See you again in a couple of months.
Finally, our last park, Durango RV Resort, a very nice park in Red Bluff.
It was a fun last day since a fun group of guys (and gals) invited us to join them for pizza at their lot in Red Bluff. We were just walking by with Aussie and they said they were ordering several pizzas so to come back and join them.
These were some real wild and crazy (but nice) guys who like to party.
This trip trip has come to an end but there will be more travels in 2 months so stay tuned.
Passing Shasta Mountain A lot of burned trees from last summers fires.
Enjoy being home after what looked to be a wonderful trip💗
