Gary came back from skiing in Whistler with a bruised bone in his knee. In a few weeks we are scheduled to be in Big Sky Montana and then Jackson Hole Wyoming. for some more skiing. We will see how that goes with a bad knee and a broken wrist.😫
Gary returned from BC with a cold and so of course I caught it and we were unable to go to the big concert in our park last week but of course we could hear the great music.
Pam Tillis , a popular country singer and daughter of Mel Tillis sang outside under the stars in our resort from 6:30 to 9:30pm. The music sounded incredible but since we were both sick we stayed at our casita nearby.
Then a few days later there was another concert in the park sponsored by Newell Motorcoach. We were better and were able to attend. Another great band the Knock Rockers performed music similar to Creedence Clearwater. The music was great but but the food offered looked awful. Brown beans, coleslaw, and macaroni & cheese.
Then the next day our hike group went on another nice hike. This time to Thousand Palms Coachella Valley Preserve. Not a very challenging hike but 11 of us did 4.30 miles in 2 hours and came back with a lot of sand in our shoes. A very nice group indeed and even 1 guy was brave enough to join us.
Yesterday I had 3 hours of fun drop-in tennis. Anyone in the park is invited to drop into the courts on Sundays at 9am and see who is there to play. There is a young couple in the park that are only here maybe a few days every month because their teenage kids are in school a few hours away at their regular home. Whenever they are here playing is a lot more fun and they were here because of the Presidents Day holiday. Thanks Justin & Anna for your patience!
This week we are packing up getting ready to go to San Francisco to see the kids, then to Oregon to check on the house and finally Big Sky Montana and Jackson Hole Wyoming. A lot of driving to each location. Let’s hope it is not too cold in each place but that the last 2 places have some snow.
Our plan is to be back just in time for the big Indian Wells tennis tournament here. Last year we saw Nadal and Federer play. Lets hope they are back again. Love those guys.
Last year after some great matches, Gary and I walked home from the Tennis Garden. it was a good 4 miles to our Casita. Looking forward to this years line up.
