Today we left for the Phoenix area for a few days to get our slide on the motor home fixed. A slide room is an add-on to a coach that extends its side wall to create more interior living space. The seal in the slide started to come out so it will take about 12 man hours to get it fixed. Then we will head back to our lot in Indio where everything is still shut down.
Here is what it the highway looked like on our way from Indio to the Phoenix area.
It turns out that the repair facility is just off the side to an airport runway. We walked Aussie along side a plane taking off. How many of you every got to walk your dog on an airplane runway?
I hope we don’t hear planes overhead all night.
And just a few days before we left for the trip we met someone new in our park. They had just moved over from the park across the street. After seeing the Canadian flag on their golf cart, I asked where they were from and learned they actually grew up near me in Montreal and know a lot of the same people. In fact, turns out that his brother was recently Gary’s dentist in Montreal. Wow, what a small world.
By the time we get back to our park at the end of the week, several more people will start to depart for their summer home like Joelle and Dave from Washington who we recently had over. We sat outside and we were over 6 feet apart and used separate utensils.
People in California are being very careful and California is no longer one of the top states in the country with Covid19 cases. Every one in California is still wearing a mask outside but now that we have arrived in Arizona, we have not seen one person here with a mask. It is not as strict in this state.
