Lots of fun last night with friends playing a great game developed in Canada called The Game of Things. I highly recommend it for a group of 6 or more players.
Someone reads the topic and then the players write down their response. Every player gets a chance to guess who said what and if they make the match they get a point. The crazier things you say, the better. Guaranteed to make you laugh.😄
I can’t believe there are only 3 more weeks before we leave Oregon and hit the road in the bus towards the California Desert. We will be traveling along the coast of Oregon which we have never seen and I hope to find some great photo opportunities. Stop one will be at Pacific Shores in Newport Oregon. This is a Class A & C Resort. They are in Phase One and due to covid “Phase One”requires that they keep closed ALL public spaces, including the laundry rooms, restrooms, showers, workout areas, pools, saunas, and spas.
From there we will head to Charleston, Oregon and we will stay near the marina. With temperatures here in Redmond close to 100 every day, the cooler temperatures along the coast will be a pleasant change. Charleston is the least populated (Pop. 795) community in Oregon’s Bay Area and is home to a large commercial fishing fleet. It is adjacent to the ocean entrance to Coos Bay.
Then we will arrive at our RV Resort, Motorcoach Country Club in Indio where we will drop off the coach before heading to our timeshare in Carlsbad for a few weeks https://www.motorcoachcountryclub.com
In these strange times our timeshare at the Four Seasons reports the following. “Upon arrival, there will be a screening procedure that may include temperature checking as well as a series of questions regarding health and recent travel. Our employees will be wearing masks. In accordance with the advice of medical experts and industry best practices, all guests (ages 10 and above) will be required to wear a mask or face covering when in public indoor spaces on property and when receiving service while in a guest room”. Our stay there will certainly not be anything like our stays in the past.
Then after Carlsbad it is back to the desert just in time for election day.
We will miss the tax free sales tax in Oregon when we head back to California. Currently the sales tax rate in the county we are in when we are in California is 7.75% and in San Francisco it is 8.5%. The state of Oregon has relatively high corporate income taxes and imposes additional taxation on specific distributors of goods and services, allowing the state to have a 0% property tax and sales tax making ordering from Amazon even more enjoyable. 💻
Another benefit to being in Oregon is that they do not allow you to pump gas into your car. All gas stations are serviced by employed attendants so you never have to get out of your car and touch the germ filled gas pumps. Oregon first put these rules into place back in 1951, when lawmakers decided that only trained service station workers should be able to pump the gas. Gas station pumps didn’t have all of the safety features they do today. Pumps were also more complicated than an average person was prepared to use. Oregon remains one of only two states nationwide (the other is New Jersey) where you can’t pump your own gas but if your car or truck uses diesel, you can pump it yourself.
Hope the email notification works so we can follow ur blog…stay safe…hugs..Stan
