Two weeks in Carlsbad

Beautiful here in Carlsbad California. All the flowers are in bloom including the Bird of Paradise and the daily temperatures here are in the 70’s.

Just before leaving Indio to come to Carlsbad, Gary dropped some furniture on his leg and scraped off quite a bit of skin. Then he did the same thing to the other leg a day later. By the time we got here to Carlsbad his legs looked even worse and were very red so he went to the emergency room and it turned out he had infections on both legs. So no long walks, biking or pickleball for him the first week we were here although we did walk the beautiful Batiquitos Lagoon.

At least if we had to sit around that first week it was here at the Four Seasons where we have a beautiful view of the golf course from our 3rd floor balcony.

This week we went over to the Poinsettia Pickleball courts and played some pickleball. Of the 6 courts there 4 of them remain open and most of the open play there can be challenging.

Last week I went over to the Altamira courts which are private pickleball/tennis courts for members only and met with a member there that I had played with at the Poinsettia courts last year. Reservations only there and a little more relaxed play plus no waiting time.
