It was a nice cool windy weekend in San Francisco. The parents were all bundled up with hats and winter jackets but the cold didn’t seem to bother the kids that came to enjoy Jacobs birthday party at Balboa Park.
The kids had several hours of soccer fun but while they waited a half hour for the soccer coaches to arrive they found plenty to do like throw a chuckit ball for Aussie and get into trouble wrestling on the ground.
Yes, the kids all had to wear masks while playing.
The next day we had a pickleball star in the making and Aussie did not want to be left out.
The ride home was quite interesting. Mt Shasta area was very smoky and along the highway you could see the burnt trees.
We also passed these hot air balloons overhead.
And so many Olive trees along the way.
And of course always my favorite sight, the colorful trucks in Truck Village just off highway I5 in Weed. Unfortunately several of these brightly colored trucks were missing and I just learned why. These are water trucks that are leased to the wildland fire fighting departments and with all the smoke and fires nearby these trucks are needed to be on the road.
Another interesting stop along the way was at a rest stop where Gary walked Aussie and this lady was walking her bird.
Thank you Sara for sending this blast from the past. So much fun biking with part of the Stowe Velo Group. This was less than half of the regular group but still fun. My guess is that this was probably about 5 years ago and probably a 25 mile bike ride. Such a beautiful bridge. We were so lucky that it held all our weight. 😲
