The next stop was at a very nice upscale park called Talona Ridge in East Ellijay, Georgia, an hour & 1/2 from Atlanta. One of the nicer parks we have stayed in. This park is only a year old and all 141 sites are paved with many supersized pull through lots. There are 3 levels in the park with the top level having the best mountain views.
We had to stay on the bottom level because the park was almost all booked due to a rally.
They have a very nice dog park, and a kids playgrounds made from logs in the lower level.
Four nice pickleball courts and a clubhouse and pool on the top level.
Although this resort has a lot to offer and the employees are very kind, this was a bad stay due to the family parked right next to us. Not only were they loud, they allowed their 2 little girls to play ball in the morning near our coach hitting it. Then at dusk they decided to play frisbee out front and hit our coach again. Gary had to go outside and tell them to stop. It looks like they scratched our coach in the front. They also let their little dog run loose right in front of our coach when Gary was parking it and they left many of their belongings hanging outside all over their RV for everyone to see.
The good news was it was great to see and spend time with Gary’s older brother,
We also had a nice visit with our nephew and his family.
Our first stop in Florida was Traveler’s Campground in Alachua, near Gainesville. An easy stop off I75. No frills in this park but a nice stop with paved lots and animals galore.
Aussie & I had a staring contest with this Emu. The Emu won.
This staff member was kind enough to help us blow the acorns off the slides.
From here we have multiple stops in Florida which include Lakeland, Sanford (Orlando area) where we used to live, and then the Panhandle. There are a few more friends and family we hope to see along the way.
What a wonderful trip! Love reading and seeing the photos!
Enjoy💕
Sounds like a fun adventure!
It’s always wonderful to see family and friends along the way!
Take care and travel safe,
Claire
Oh, I’m so sorry about your bad neighbors! … it’s too bad they scratched your coach! It sounds like they were quite disrespectful of you.
It’s good you got to see family. Gary’s brother looks a lot like him. Have a safe trip, and hopefully, better neighbors in the future.
