Sam Johnson Park in Redmond Oregon is a community park offering tennis courts, pickleball courts, picnic tables with BBQ grills & a paved walking trail.
Yesterday morning I signed up for a Round Robin with about 13 other ladies and we had a lot of fun playing pickleball for 2 hours until the winds began to blow so strong that we had to end it. Gary was on the other courts playing with some of the guys but the wind had no affect on them.
The wind gusts here in Oregon were anywhere from 22 to 33 mph which made it seem a lot colder than it was.
We are packing up and getting ready to head to San Francisco but just got the word that there will be power outages in a lot of California due to heavy winds. The news reported that thousands of Northern Californians lost power Wednesday morning as the embattled giant utility Pacific Gas & Electric began pulling the plug as a preventative measure against potential wildfires.In the biggest planned power outage in state history, PG&E started turning off the power that residents use for lights, television sets, computers, stoves and air conditioners in rolling blackouts planned for 30 counties with almost 800,000 paying accounts, impacting more than a million people.
Nevertheless, we are on our way to California.
