Traveling on the road now is so different than what it used to be. Now with a motorhome we actually have room for our belongings. Here is what it used to look like when we drove from Florida to Vermont every spring. Not to mention having to sneak 6 dogs into 1 hotel room. We even got caught once.
A couple of days ago we stopped at Grape Country RV Park in Altus Arkansas. This is a small 8 to 10 lot RV park for self contained vehicles. This is not a fancy park but the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely stop here again.
Although founded as a coal mining community, the wine industry has driven the Altus economy since the first vineyards were planted in 1872. The population was 758 at the 2010 census down from 817 at the 2000 census.
Trails lead to the wine grape fields
James the owner stops by to say hello Nice walking trails next to the parking lot
With several wineries nearby, we stopped at Post Winery for a quick wine tasting. Some really delicious non alcoholic wines available as well.
Their bottling facility
We are moving on tomorrow to the Ozarks in Missouri.
Really enjoyed the pictures of the pups! You guys were NUTS! traveling with all those guys! We just met a couple in Teton who breed boxers. They are traveling with 4 in their coach – unreal!
How was the White Muscadine Sangria? sounds yummy. Thanks for great descriptions & photos. More new territory. Will look forward to hearing about the Ozarks. (never did watch that series…too creepy). Stay safe & continue to enjoy.
Actually, I misspoke. They SHOW boxers at dog shows all over the northwest. Wish I’d gotten some pix to show you.
Never knew you had 6 day dogs…Wow!!…that must have been when you were much younger….how’s the new coach…time to update photo on “On The Road Adventures”
Love all the trip details, makes me feel like I’m traveling with you guys! I just caught up on the last 2 months.
All good notes to add into my bucket list for places to visit.
Thank you for sharing Suzan!!
