Arkansas

Who did we run into at Newell before we left a few days ago? Lisa and Steve with their brand new puppies heading to their Pennsylvania farm and then later that day Larry and Cynthia heading to Traverse City, Mi. We know both couples from our resort in Indio.

Also, just before leaving Newell in Miami OK Gary viewed several birthday wishes from many friends and family members. A lot of laughter and tears.

We are now at the Downtown Riverside RV Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. Across the river is the Clinton Library & Museum. We walked across the bridge to the building but we were told that the library is closed until July due to covid.

The William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park is the presidential Library of Bill Clinton who was the 42nd president of the United States (1993–2001)

Preliminary planning for the Clinton library began in 1997, while groundbreaking for the complex occurred on December 5, 2001. Early estimates put the library’s cost at about $125 million. In 2001, the Clinton Foundation hoped to gather $200 million in donations to cover project costs. In the end, the entire project cost $165 million in private funding, with an additional $11.5 million of land given by the City of Little Rock to construct and covers 152,000 square feet within a 28 acres park

It was a disappointment that we could not get into the library but we had a nice surprise later that day when Phil and Carla pulled into our park in Arkansas with their brand new adorable puppy that they had just picked up the day before in Illinois. They were heading back to their home in Texas. That’s the fun part about traveling in an RV. You never know who you may run into in different parts of the country.

Tonight we will park at a winery in Altus, Arkansas. I don’t think we have ever tasted Arkansas wine before. Lets hope the rain finally stops so we can walk around the grape fields.
