A 10 day trip planned to return to Oregon, but first a little prep work before leaving.
Gary trying to help the baby geese that can’t get out of the pool. A difficult mission without being attacked by the adult geese. This took about an hour until our neighbor brought over some Styrofoam for the babies to hop on. It all had a happy ending aside from the geese leaving us with a dirty pool to clean from all the droppings.
A few days before departure a couple of burglars roamed our neighborhood. Here is one caught on one of our outdoor cameras at 4 am. A video also shows him trying to open our front door but thank goodness it was locked. He even tried to move one of our cameras but moved it to face his accomplice sitting on a stolen golf cart. 🤣 As you can see this guy is certainly not dressed for the 90 degree weather.
Unfortunately one of our neighbors around the corner from us left his door unlocked and they snuck into his place while he was asleep and stole his wallet.
Two more fixes before departure…
The hole doctor and the dent doctor fixing holes in bus tires and pulling out dents from the refrigerator.
A nice stop in Paso Robles where there are over 200 wineries available for wine tasting. Our pick this stop was the Tooth and Nail Winery, a unique castle surrounded by water. We were served a delicious Albariño which is a dry white wine with aromas of citrus and peach.
Another fine dining experience at Catch, downtown Paso where the delicious food is prepared right in front of you.
Aussie walks a path in the woods at Cava Robles
From Paso to Jackson. Excellent walking path around the RV Park at Jackson Rancheria. Just look out for rattlesnakes and coyotes.😲
The Elks Club in Red Bluff, Lodge #1250 recently converted their 3 unused tennis courts into 10 new pickleball courts and we were among the lucky people to have arrived just in time and privileged to use the courts on the very first day of use. There was a great turn out and lots of snacks. For now they have temporary nets but are slowly working on all the upgrades. In the future players will have to be members of the Elks Club. This Elks Club Lodge is on 7 1/2 acres near the Sacramento river and they have 17 RV hook ups on gravel.
A few nights stay at The Heritage Park in Corning California, 20 minutes from Red Bluff. A quick stop at the Olive Pit featuring over 120 varieties of olives. Corning is the self-proclaimed “green olive capital of the world,” We tried some very tasty samples at the tasting bar.
Now we are on the way to Central Point, Oregon where we will stay through Memorial Day. Wishing you all a very Happy Memorial Day and a Happy Victoria Day to our Canadian friends and family. This means summer is on the way!
Suzan,
Sounds like a great trip and as always, love seeing the photos!
Happy Memorial Day to you and we are spending it on the boat in Washington.
Happy travels,
Elaine 💕
Wow! It looks like you’ve had some fun adventures. It’s too bad about the burglar in your neighborhood, but thank goodness your doors were locked. I hope they catch him and his accomplice and put them in jail! I hope and pray you have no more out-of-the ordinary happenings and that your travels are safe. One of the PEM picklers is headed to Paso Robles for some wine-tasting. It sounds like a great area. Maybe we’ll get to see it soon. Enjoy the rest of your trip home to EC. God bless!
