The Fall leaves are starting to change to the beautiful colors of Red, Orange and Gold. The temperatures are now much cooler and it’s so pleasant to walk on the many paths in Stowe.
Walking the Stowe Recreation Path yesterday I heard some beautiful music and could not figure out where it was coming from. Then I got a glimpse of a man in formal attire in the middle of the corn field adjacent to the path playing a Cello. How often do you run into a person playing a cello?
The musician was so deep in concentration that I quickly took his picture and moved on. If Aussie had not been pulling me to move on, I may have stayed and enjoyed the concert in the corn.
A few interesting facts about the cello (pronounced (chello) , the full name is violoncello which means “little violone”and its name comes from the Italian language. It came into use in the 16th century. A person who plays a cello is a cellist. It is a very popular instrument that belongs to the string family. Like the violin, a cello has 4 strings. It can be used as a solo instrument, in chamber music as well as orchestras. Less common in popular music than classical, the cello has been used by the Beatles, Cher, the Beach Boys, ELO and a few other Rock bands
