Goodbye January- January 2021 in Review

First vaccine today and all went well. The line was not too bad. Now we need to wait 3 weeks for the second shot. They do not allow photos to be taken inside so here is the line outside.

This past week 13 of us from the park had a nice hike to the Cross in Palm Desert. It was perfect weather for a good hike. The Cross is an illuminated cross mounted on top of a hill, popular for moderate desert hikes with scenic views.

We are trying to get people in our park who have never tried pickleball to get interested in it so this month we set it up to meet on Tuesday afternoons at the nearby pickleball courts in La Quinta. The first day we had quite a nice sized group attend. In total there were a combination of 34 people, a combination of beginners as well as experienced players. We hope to continue this get together on Tuesdays.

We also had our new pizza oven hooked up this month and its been a learning experience but we think we finally have the best pizza crust recipe. A few friends have helped us to experiment and here is one pizza made by some friends in the park. We provided the crust and they brought their own toppings.

This is the pizza oven. Its slightly larger than the one in Oregon and makes a great pizza.

Tomorrow we will fly to Redmond, Oregon and will finally see some snow for the first time this season. Aussie will be able to sit beside us on the 2 hour flight there and this will be a first and hopefully a good experience for her.

Finally to end off January in review, here is one of my favorite views in the park. Its been quite cool here in the mornings and evenings so notice the snow on top of the mountains.
