Christmas Eve we had a small gathering at our casita. There was lots of good food and laughter.
The next day we took our motorhome and headed to El Mirage, Arizona for the week.
We were able to visit with Gary’s mom in the nursing home in Scottsdale just before her 96th birthday.
We had a good stay in Arizona including a nice evening at our friends home in the park in El Mirage. They had us over for New Years Eve and went all out to make sure this was a meal with no meat. A nice quiet celebration.
The following are just a few of the decorated lots in this park in Arizona that were a little unusual.
Christmas lights on cactus Turtle deco made from many colored golf balls
Here are a few pictures from our ride back home. I could not capture all the hot air balloons but there were probably around 20 of them in this beautiful Arizona sky.
Also a couple of homeless guys traveling with their dogs seen at this rest stop.
On New Years Day we arrived back home to Indio in time to line one tennis court for our pickleball trials at our resort. One tennis court equals 4 pickleball courts. There were six of us there to tape the court and someone else brought in four temporary pickleball nets borrowed from the Indian Wells Tennis Center
The whole month of January we will allow the members in our resort to use this tennis court for pickleball from 9am until 3 pm. At exactly 3pm the locks go on the 2 gates.
The first day of our trial there was a great turn out with about 24 people including a great player named Dave who was in a wheelchair. We had some instruction from a gold medal player and all round nice guy named Ron who sells paddles at the courts nearby and he just happens to be 90 years old.
Here is one of our new folding ebikes. We ride them around the park daily. Lots of fun.
I have been writing some stories for the blog on our resorts website so I am way behind on my own personal blog. If anyone gets a chance, you can read 2 of the 3 stories I have written so far. The first one is called “Forever Young”, the second one is “Bringing Joy to MCC” and the third which has not been posted yet is currently being written about a man in our resort who was crippled by a motorcycle accident many years ago and then became the #2 wheelchair tennis player in the country. It should be very interesting to read when it is complete.
Suzan,
Happy New Year!
As always, love reading your blog!
