It was a long day from Polson Montana to McCall Idaho through long windy roads. At one point near Pollock Idaho we came to a stop where the road was closed due to a rock landslide on the highway. We then had to take a detour.
We finally arrived at McCall RV Resort around 6pm and we took a wrong turn onto a dead end road to get to the office. Then Jackie and Fred came out from their motor home to the rescue. We unhooked the truck and Fred helped Gary back up so he could turn around.
The wrong turn was due to a fifth wheel making a turn towards us where we should have turned and blocking the sign that showed the way to the office. Anyways it was nice to meet Fred and Jackie. He is a retired Science teacher and she is a retired nurse and they just celebrated their 50th anniversary and since their kids and grand kids live with them at home they needed to get away for some peace & quiet. It is nice to know there are still a lot of nice people in this world.
The McCall RV Resort is very nice. This is one of the nicer RV parks we have stayed in and it is hard to get a reservation here but we were persistent in calling every day to see if they had any cancellations and we lucked out getting a really nice spot for 3 days without having to move to another site.
Yesterday we spent the day in a boat on the Lake with some friends Steve & Judy who live here as well as our resort in Indio. Payette Lake is a 5,330 acre expanse of clean, glacial water sitting at an elevation of about 5,000 feet in the mountains of Idaho.
We took a tour of some of the huge homes of some famous people along the water.
Hopefully a few more adventures here before we leave the area.
