It is very over cast here in Indio as we prepare to get ready to leave to go to San Francisco for the holidays.
Later today I hope to get a few pictures of how some of the people in the park have decorated their Casitas for the holidays but my downloading of pictures is still not working well..
We went to a holiday party last night and it was so chilly outside that the home owner started a fire in his fire pit. The fire got so high that it just about burnt our hair and the smoke got on our clothes. Still a nice get together nonetheless.
I keep trying to download my picture of the fire but nothing is happening so here is a fake fire.
Here is a glimpse of our view as we head out of Coachella Valley. These wind turbines are built specifically to generate electricity. Windmills were originally created to pump water and to mill grain. The wind farm on the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass in the San Bernadino Mountains contains more than 4000 separate windmills and provides enough electricity to power Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley. The most common reason that turbines stop spinning is because the wind is not blowing fast enough. Most wind turbines need a sustained wind speed of 9 MPH or higher to operate. It looks like life from another planet.
