We left Indio on February 20th and headed for San Francisco where we celebrated our anniversary at a nice Italian restaurant, Spiazzo with the kids.

The next morning we watched Jacob dive head first into the pool at his swim class.

Sunday we left and headed for our place in Redmond Oregon. The 3 days we were there the weather was perfect. Sunny and 60’s and no snow. Aussie and I walked near the woods on the walking path and saw several deer staring at us.
Gary drove up to Mt Bachelor one day and tried the ski hill and said the mountain there was great.
Mount Bachelor ski resort is a ski resort located in Central Oregon, approximately 22 miles west of Bend. The ski area is on the northern side of Mount Bachelor, a stratovolcano rising atop a volcanic shield in the Cascade Range. Total lift accessible area is 4,318 acres with approximately 1,600 acres groomed daily. The longest run is just over 1.5 miles . There are 11 chairlifts.
From Oregon we drove for about 11 hours through Sun Valley Idaho passing scenery that looked mostly like this..

After we left Idaho we drove a few hours to Dillon Montana where they have a nice Patagonia Outlet store. We only had about an hour to spend in the store and with so much great stuff in this big store we did not get to see it all. However we both left with a new jacket. A great store, and no sales tax in Montana!

From Dillon we drove several hours to Big Sky Montana where we are based for 5 days before heading to Jackson Hole Wyoming.
There is a lot of snow here in Big Sky and the sidewalks are very icy since they do not sand or salt. We are renting a VRBO Condo in town near the restaurants and shops and our friends are staying at a Hotel right on the Mountain. Last night it took them over an hour to get to our place because of the icy roads and the traffic when normally it should have taken 15 minutes.
They are all skiing today and I have been told that this mountain which used to be quiet with no waiting lines at the lifts has become crazy busy with little parking available and long wait lines thanks to the IKON pass allowing people from all over to ski here at the lower cost of a pass.
I think tomorrow everyone may take a break and we will go snow shoeing in the woods.

Stay tuned for hopefully some pictures of our snow shoeing attempt here in Montana.
On Wednesday we leave for Wyoming and may attempt to do some cross country skiing there.
On March 9th, it starts the beginning of the Indian Wells Tennis tournament for 2 weeks near Palm Springs. It is a long drive from Wyoming, our next stop but our plan is to be back by then so we can hopefully see some good tennis matches.
