On the southern coast of Finland approximately 30 miles east of Helsinki is the town of Porvoo, the second oldest city in Finland. Porvoo old town is a popular tourist destination, popular for its 18 and 19th century buildings and 15th century cathedral.
Porvoo Cathedral was built in the 15th century although the oldest parts date from the 13th century. The church became the first cathedral in 1723. It was originally made of wood before stones were brought in between 1420 and 1450. It has been destroyed by fire numerous times and rebuilt. It is just steps up the street from Josh and Riikkas house.
