Our RV resort is becoming quite quiet as many people have left to head home early, especially the Canadians. Usually we have parties and events but all has stopped and even our restaurant has shut down and we don’t know if the people who are running it will every come back since many have quit including several chefs.
To keep our sanity we take many walks a day around park which is a 1.5 mile loop around.
One lady in here owns 2 lots and decided to put up a pickleball court on her empty lot. At first there was a lot of excitement and many people just stopped their golf carts to watch the game but it seems in the last few days there have been a few complaints about the noise. Some people have nothing better do do with their time than complain. Today walking around the park we heard sawing , blowing, mowing and so much more that was much noisier. This was just something that was set up temporarily to keep our sanity but maybe not only with the complaints it might be a good idea to think about what it means for everyone to be touching the same ball, especially after wiping their sweat away and coughing and sneezing near the ball etc.
And if all of us congregating next to each other is not bad enough, we did a foolish thing and invited 3 other couples over for dinner and sat close together.
We finally came to a realization today that this thing is not a joke and not going away so quickly, especially after hearing from our son in Finland who says it is not as bad there but he is taking it very seriously and is not socializing. He says we need to really take this seriously too.
We think that just because we are inside a gated community where most of the RVers have left and not a lot of people have come in does not mean we are safe. We still have outside workers coming in doing gardening and maintenance and building.
We just got notice that the Walmarts are opening at 6am for seniors so that will probably be our only outing for the week. Shopping at 6am would not be my choice but the store is probably the cleanest after just opening up.
Lets all keep our distance and stay safe. Too many people are dying from this.
Hope your both ok, be very careful. W’e’ll keep intouch
Hope you guys are staying safe too!
