The First Week of our 2 month journey has gone by so quickly and what crazy weather we have had all week!
First stop Caldwell, Idaho near Boise. We arrived to major thunder and lightning
- Ambassador Park – 2 days
The day after arrival we were able to play some pickleball at Hobble Creek Park in Boise where they have 12 nice courts, plus 2 tennis courts with lines for pickleball) but the next day the temperature was 106 degrees so it was a day to stay inside in air conditioning. I practically burned my fingers trying to open the motorcoach door because it was so hot!
A nice park with a whole row of air stream people caravanning together.

Gary also made friends with an employee of the park named Brian who used to make real airplanes. One of his planes was on the cover of this magazine from 1994. (The yellow plane)
2. Park City, Utah at Park City RV – 2 days
The first day we planned a hike but there was a rain storm so bad with hail that the road flooded. Again, we had to stay inside (aside from sneaking out to the Patagonia Outlet Store).
They did have a nice grassy area in the lower level of our park. It had a nice stream and we were able to walk Aussie there the day after the rainstorm.
The Olympic slide as seen just off the highway near where we were staying in Park City.
3. Cheyenne, Wyoming at Rjourney RV Park.
Upon arrival we were met with scary thunder and major lightning.
The next day the weather improved in Cheyenne & we went over to Lion’s Park, a beautiful park where they recently had a ribbon cutting ceremony for the brand new pickleball courts. There are 8 new courts that just opened last month and they were built from the ground up. This beautiful park is right next to the Cheyenne Botanical Gardens. After playing pickleball for several hours with some really nice people we threw the chuck-it ball for Aussie in the park and she pulled something in her leg and is now limping.

The beautiful lake that is in the middle of the park.
Just a little bit of information but Cheyenne which is the capital of Wyoming has an elevation of 6.100 ft.
4. Henderson, Nebraska at Prairie Oasis RV Park
Just a quick overnight stay at a small nice park off the highway. Unfortunately they kept losing power so we had to use our generator.
5. Waukee, Iowa next to Des Moines at Timberline Campground. A 3 day stay.
A nice visit with our friends Dick and Deb in Waukee who we met in Quebec City at a Prevost Rally about 8 years ago. They used to own this RV park we are staying at but sold it several years ago.
Delicious sushi food at Wasabi Waukee. We had the Marilyn Monroll.
The weather here in Iowa has been over 106 degrees daily with 90% humidity. My hair doesn’t like it but I shouldn’t complain because that’s better than the flooding in Indio, California and the smoke in Redmond, Oregon right now but unfortunately another day to stay inside in air conditioning.
An interesting looking tiny home in the park but no one living there. Also, a catch and release pond.
We are on our way and our upcoming stops this week will be Indiana, Ohio, Pa and NY.
Wow! You guys have made great progress and seen a lot. It’s too bad about the weather. Having grown up in the upper Midwest, I know how quickly the weather can change and what high humidity and temps feel like. I had to laugh at the picture you posted depicting your “humidity hair.” 😅 …been there! Enjoying your posts.. stay safe, and pickle on!
Enjoy every minute of your wonderful adventure 💕
